In his on words :
It
was said that Man has been created with Two Ears and A Mouth,
indicting that we should never forget the importance of
listening , while expressing our words.
It
the era of (e-) information boom, most of us have been placed
in a position of information overload, which remains one of the
reasons that Good Listening has become more and more
'Expensive'.
Situations
like, Leader(s) not listening well enough to team-mates;
Husband/Wife not paying good attention to his/her spouse's
expression; Child complaining that his/her parents hardly spend
time listening to him/her, are more than common, indicating the
'Quality of Listening' is deteriorating and remains a crucial
issue in need of remedy.
In
toastmasters, we are not only practicing being a good
speaker/communicator by speaking out, we have also learned to
be an effective listener by lending our ears to the
speaker(s).
